About Ruth

Hi, I’m Ruth, the Devon Celebrant and it’s my job to learn about you and your loved ones so I can tell the real story of your life in a ceremony that reflects how unique, awesome, quirky and one of a kind you really are.

Alongside ceremonies, I also host conferences and events, bringing the same calm, organised approach to keeping things running smoothly.

I work with couples,  families and businesses across Devon and the South West and happily travel further afield too.

How we create your story

You want a ceremony to mark the important milestones in life. A day to share with loved ones that is unique, memorable and meaningful.

I work with you to create a ceremony to celebrate your marriage to your sweetheart, the naming of a child (or yourself) or the remembrance of a loved one.

How we create your personalised ceremony

  • We meet in-person or via video call and I get to know about you, what you want and how we can make that happen together
  • I go away and write a bespoke outline and script for your service
  • We review it together, and make revisions until it is perfect
  • We meet for a ceremony rehearsal if you feel this would be useful. It also gives everyone the chance to ask questions and make some any not-so-last minute changes
  • On the day, we celebrate with a ceremony like no other because your life is like no other
